His weaknesses or faults that resulted in the divorce Chucho eventually affect the church too! The divorce demonstrates that the elder/pastor is disqualified from leading the church. Here are some questions that could be asked of the prospective pastor. For example, what does he believe about the Bible and about Jesus Christ? Does he believe that the flamante manuscripts in which the Bible was written were written without error? Does he believe that Jesus Christ existed before He was virgin born? Does he believe that Jesus was born of a virgin? How is a person saved? Does he believe that we are born Figura sinners? What does he believe about women elders and pastors? What are his views about homosexuals, abortion, eternal judgment, spiritual gifts, the seeker movement, and the ministry to younger and older people?
In God’s plan for the church there are overseers and deacons. But who is an overseer, elder and who is a deacon?
Today, too many kindhearted but misdirected churches and seminaries allow men to become pastors who should not be in the ministry. Many pastors are spiritually immature even though they completed their seminary training and they have a poor grasp of Scripture. They know the systematic theology taught by the seminary they attended, but they cannot and do not know all of the Bible. It is impossible in a three year seminary course of study to have been taught all sixty six books of the Bible in depth.
In this passage the church is encouraged to give double honor to those who “rule well.” Some understand “double honor” Campeón being money. If so, then the lay elders should be paid too and not just the pastors according to this passage. In truth, the Greek word for “honor” is also used in reference to God within 1 Timothy (1 Timothy 1:17; 6:1). The word typically means “honor.” Notice that the phrase “especially” has the sense of “most importantly” and not just the one who excels in preaching and teaching. Who receives the highest honor?
Figura an illustration, consider a Existente-life example of a candidate’s wife who is not supportive of her husband serving as a pastor. Eventually, he leaves the ministry because of her. Sadly, 1 Timothy 3:4 states that a pastor must have his household in order.
Un obispo debe tener un liderazgo fuerte y ser un ejemplo de humildad y compasión. Debe estar dispuesto a escuchar y entender las deposición de su comunidad, y tomar decisiones basadas en los principios y enseñanzas de la Iglesia.
The passage says that if the elder does not stop sinning, he is to be rebuked in front of the congregation. At this point, it is implied that the elder is removed from office. Notice that the passage does not say this is the exclusive responsibility of the elders. But it is implied that elders are responsible for performing this action due to Hebrews 13:17.
They were merely recorded history. He also believed that there are no prophecies about Jesus. When the prospective pastor visits, a formal meeting should be held in which he is asked a series of doctrinal questions. Some leaders might be intimidated to ask questions of a prospective pastor since they themselves do not know the scriptures very well. If this is true, the Call Committee should invite some teacher(s) or elders in the church who might be able to provide the leadership in asking the questions and in providing an evaluation.
The questionnaire could also be given to the prospective pastor to determine his priorities and to compare his results to that of the leadership team. The questionnaire is provided Vencedor a resource.
The results were amazing. Most everyone said the pastor should spend most of his time in sermon preparation and teaching/preaching, but they thought he should spend only about 10 hours per week doing this. That told us that the leaders of this church did not really believe the duties of the pastor was to teach and preach. If they had, the number of hours should have been at least double. For an additional article dealing with the duties of a pastor, the selection of a pastor, and for a copy of the above mentioned questionnaire please read “Thoughts On Selecting A Pastor.” Another important article is “A Call: Teach The Bible.”
De las tres funciones, la de conducir es la que permite crear iglesia, pues sin autoridad no hay comunidad, si no existiera una autoridad, las comunidades fueran solo conglomerados.
Worse yet, there are churches who do not know what to look for and so may depend upon surveys and Christian consulting firms to aid their decision. Eventually they hire him and months or several years later, he leaves the ministry. Church members may have been critical of him in the final year or months and now they are glad he is gone. He is called a failure. Why do situations like this happen?
